Talk:Combat Infantryman Badge

Husnock: I saw that you removed my line about the Combat Action Badge. I restored my line. The link isn't working but the Combat Action Badge article is up. I assume the line wilkipedia says when you click on the CAB link about "If you have created this page in the past few minutes and it has not yet appeared, it may not be visible due to a delay in updating the database." applies. If you do a search for "combat action badge" the badge article will come up.
Hoursemen4life: I removed your edit, "However at present, the CIB may only be awarded once thus the "star" system is no longer used." since it is an incorrect interpretation of AR 600-8-22: (4) War on Terrorism (Afghanistan, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM) and (Iraq, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM). g. Subsequent awards of the CIB is not authorized for the same qualifying period, as outlined above. This means that an Infantryman who who served in Iraq can't receive a second CIB for service in Afghanistan or visa versa. But it does not mean that the the "star" system is no longer used. For example an Infantryman who served in Operation Desert Storm and later in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom is authorized to wear the CIB with a star. [edit] Not Sure I agree with your "higher", "same", and "lower" assessments...
...From what I remember, the Grouping of badges is for wear purposes, but Combat Badges supercede Expert badges. I may be wrong, but a cite might be nice. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.219.6.37 (talk) 20:11, 10 April 2007 (UTC).
