• 1973: death of Bill Everett, American comic book writer best known for co-creating Daredevil
• 1987: death of Darrell Craig McClure, American comics artist best known for Little Annie Rooney
• 2006: Speakeasy Comics, a Canadian publishing company, ceases operations one year after its first publication appeared
