Roman mosaic of the Four Seasons from the House of Bacchus in Complutum (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain). Late 4th century A.D.

counter-clockwise from top right: spring, summer, autumn, winter.

Th style is similar to that of the villas in Quintanilla de la Cuesta, (Palencia).

In this photo it is set on a wall of an Alcala museum, lent by the National Archeological Museum of Madrid.

Description

Mosaico romano de las Cuatro Estaciones de la Casa de Baco en Complutum (Alcalá de Henares, Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, España). Fines del siglo IV d.C.

En sentido antihorario desde arriba a la derecha: primavera, verano, otoño, invierno.

El estilo es similar al de las villas de Quintanilla de la Cuesta, (Palencia).

En la foto está montado en una pared del Museo Arqueológico Regional de Alcalá, cedido por el Museo Arqueológico Nacional de Madrid.
