Comté is a French word that can refer to:

  • The territory ruled by a count (comte) in medieval France (also known in English as a county or, rarely, as a countship, when referring to French land, or earldom, when referring to English land)
  • Comté (cheese), a famous French cheese from Franche-Comté
  • la Comté, the French translation of the "Shire" in J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional realm of Middle-earth (the word is here feminine as opposed to masculine, as in the above usages)
  • Comté is also the name of a new and popular French soda drink.
