Composite Cone

Composite cones are a type of extrusive land form. Many of the larger, classically shaped volcanos result from altering types of eruption where first ash, and then lava are ejected. The lava is typically acidic and viscous, causing it to accumulate onto of earlier eruptions rather than to flow freely. This gives the volcano a tall cone shaped exterior.
