Comologno

Comologno is a village and former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland.
It was first recorded in year 1438 as Comolognium.
The municipality also contained the villages Vocaglia, Corbella, Cappellino and Spruga. It had 182 inhabitants in 1719, which increased to 209 in 1769, 253 in 1795, 333 in 1808, 440 in 1850 and 624 in 1900. It then started to decrease, to 477 in 1950, 281 in 1960 and 142 in 1990.
In 1995 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities Crana and Russo to form a new and larger municipality Onsernone.
