Communist Platform

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Communist Platform ("Kommunistische Plattform", KPF) is an association within the German Left Party. It is reputed to belong to the left wing of the party.

One of the main goals of the grouping is the conservation and progression of marxist positions inside the Left Party. For the members, who call themselves communists, socialism is the aim of all intended social changes. The communist platform also wants to act on behalf of poor people and to oppose fascism and racism.

Beside the activities within the party, the KPF cooperates with the German Communist Party (DKP). It rejects a collaboration with the MLPD.

In all States of Germany, except Berlin, the KPF is observed by the Verfassungsschutz. Mostly it is classified as extreme or radical left.

Most prominent member is Sahra Wagenknecht.
