Communist Party of Bulgaria (Komunisticeska Partija na Balgarija) is a communist party in Bulgaria led by Alexander Paunov. The party was founded in 1996 as the Communist Party.[1] It is part of the Coalition for Bulgaria, an alliance led by the Bulgarian Socialist Party. The coalition won in the 2001 elections 17.1% of the popular vote and 48 out of 240 seats. At the last legislative elections, held on 25 June 2005, the Coalition won 34.2% of the popular vote and 82 out of 240 seats. In the first elections for the European Parliament in Bulgaria in 2007, the party gathered 0.98% of the popular vote.

The party publishes Rabotnicheski Vestnik.[1]
