The Communication Workers Union (CWU) is a trade union in South Africa. It was formed in May, 1996 by the merger of the Post Office Employees Association (PEASA),the Post and Telecommunication Workers Association (POTWA) and the South African Post Telecommunication Employees Association (SAPTEA).

CWU is an affiliate of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU).
