Communauto

Communauto, founded in 1994, is the oldest car sharing organization in North America, with operations in Quebec City, Montreal, Sherbrooke and Gatineau, Canada. Cars are available for use 24 hours per day, to be used for as little as 30 minutes at a time. Members pay a yearly administration fee and are billed monthly for their use of cars based on time of use and kilometres driven. All cars are Toyota Echo, Toyota Yaris and Toyota Matrix[1]. Communauto has more than 11 000 members.

It operates as VrtuCar in Ottawa, Ontario.
