The first Commonwealth Karate Championships were held in the Velodrome in Manchester in 2003.

The second Commonwealth Karate Championships were held in Wellington, New Zealand from 12 August to 14 August 2005.

The third Commonwealth Karate Championships will be held at Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh from 31 May to 1 June 2008.
