Committee for Green Foothills
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Committee for Green Foothills is a local-level nonprofit environmental organization working to protect open space and habitat in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, located in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. For decades, CGF has successfully opposed inappropriate development of the foothills, forests, and coasts of the San Francisco Peninsula.
CGF was founded in 1962 by a group of concerned citizens including Lois Crozier-Hogle, Ruth Spangenberg, and Wallace Stegner, who became the first president of the organization [1].
CGF is funded primarily by individual private donations [2].
