Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) was founded in 1968 to accredit graduate healthcare management programs. It was originally called the Accrediting Commission on Education for Health Services Administration, or ACEHSA, and changed its name in 2004 [1] to reflect a change in strategic direction.
CAHME has been granted formal recognition by the United States Department of Education (DOE) and Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as the only organization to accredit master's level healthcare management programs in the United States and Canada [2]. The Association of University Programs in Health Administration also requires masters programs to have CAHME accreditation before they can be considered 'full members' [3].
