Commandment Rock

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Commandment Rock is a large rock located in the Lane Cove National Park, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. An engraving of the Fifth Commandment is on the rock. It is reputed to have been carved in the late 1800s by near by a resident, Thomas Tunbridge. Weathering has caused the engraving to be barely visible today. The rock is currently difficult to reach due to the growth of vegetation.[1]

In 1866 a family was living on the flat rock with a small vegetable and strawberry farm[2].
