Coming Up To Breathe is the fifth major label, full-length studio album from MercyMe, that was released on April 25, 2006 through INO Records. The first radio single released in support of the album is "So Long Self". Prior to the album's release, an acoustic version of the album, entitled Coming Up To Breathe Acoustic, was released exclusively through Family Christian Stores, which featured all 13 tracks in a raw, live form.
The album peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and number 13 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Coming Up To Breathe Acoustic peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums.
