Cominella otagoensis is a species of predatory sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Buccinidae, the true whelks.

This species is endemic to eastern Otago and Foveaux Strait in New Zealand

This whelk lives at depths of between 90 and 550 m.
[edit] Shell description
The shell is rather small, elongate-ovate, strongly sculptured with long axials, overridden by crisp spiral cords, five or six between the shoulder angle and the lower suture and continued over the body whorl and base to the ridge-margined fasciole.
The shell coloration is pure white.
The shell height is up to 21 mm, and width 10 mm.
