Comic World is an anime oriented festival that is held in Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong hosted by Japanese company S.E.Techno.

Because there are few amateur circle conventions in Korea, this convention is considered to be not only the biggest anime convention, but also the Comiket of Korea. Along with ACA festival, it is one of the top anime conventions in Korea. Comic World is usually held in Seoul and Busan although it was also held it Daegu before as well. Daegu Comic World has been in hiatus since its 6th convention, however.
Seoul Comic World is called Seo-Co while Busan Comic World is called Bu-Co for short.

Comic World was first held in 1999 May for the first time and boasts the largest number of circles and visitors compared to any other anime conventions in Korea. The company that hosts Comic World also sponsors 3 additional festivals called FAN, which is am idol fan oriented convention, Adult Comic, dedicated to adult dōjinshis, and Busan World Hobby.
Comic World originally started in Seoul, and moved to Busan and Daegu as well. It usually provides exhibition booths, item lockers, and a dressing room for its attendees. It also allows visitors to participate in various activities such as illustration and cosplay contests, cosplay exhibitions, anime theme song competitions, and chance to speak with one's favorite voice actors.
Currently, Seoul Comic World is held once a month, Busan Comic World once every two months, and Adult Comic every 6 months. FAN and Daegu Comic World is currently under a hiatus.
[edit] Characteristics and Criticisms
Unlike ACA festival and CAN festival which started strictly as a place for amateur artists to gather, Comic World was created with financial profit in mind. Because of this, it has frequent, large events and soon gained mass popularity. Comic World allows circles to reserve a booth at the end of a previous Comic World festival, and the reservations usually fill up in one day, evidencing its popularity.
However, because of its capitalistic aims and carelessness of the festival sponsors, it also gathered endless criticisms.
Other companies have tried to emulate its popularity but they have failed.
