Comhar Teoranta, a limited company, publishes the monthly magazine Comhar and is also a book-publishing company, publishing approximately three books annually for a general readership in the Gaelic language. Comhar was founded in 1942.

Comhar aims to provide intellectually stimulating reading material for readers of Irish Gaelic throughout the world in addition to providing opportunities for writers both young and old, from the whole island of Ireland and beyond, to have material published in the gaelic language.

It is a charitable company (number 47559) without shares.
