Comedy rap is a form of rap that has satirical lyrics[1][2][3] or contains some other comedic value. While mainstream rappers such as Eminem and Ludacris often have comedic lyrics, they are generally not considered comedy rap. Comedy rap is often used in the Scary Movie film series, as well as Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans. Lyrics often rely on the seriousness of the rap culture as a source of comedic fodder, and rappers such as MC Chris and MC Lars often exploit this. Afroman, a rapper from Palmdale, often uses marijuana as a comedic element. The hip hop duo Insane Clown Posse applies a liberal amount of dark humor to their content, especially on their earlier albums.
