"Comatose" is a song by Pearl Jam featured on the band's 2006 self-titled album Pearl Jam. It is the third track on the album.

[edit] Origin and recording
The song was first titled "Crapshoot Rapture",[1] but was later renamed to "Comatose" after changes to some of the song's lyrics. The song features lyrics written by frontman Eddie Vedder and music co-written by guitarists Mike McCready and Stone Gossard.

"Comatose" (as "Crapshoot Rapture") debuted at the band's March 18, 2005 concert in Seattle, Washington at the Paramount Theatre.[2] It was the first song from the album Pearl Jam to be performed live.
A live performance of "Comatose" can be found on the Live at the Gorge 05/06 box set. A performance of the song is also included on the DVD Immagine In Cornice.
