[edit] Merge this category into Category:Computer lists

Most computing fields/topics are also the subjects of computer science. Think about it, in general computing science studys computing. Note that of the three items now in "Computer science lists", one is "Computer lists".

With only 3 items it's clear that the "computer science lists" category has not been maintained by its user community (or that it has no user community). Further, with "computer lists" as a subcategory, that subcategory is the principal source for computer science lists - and, as noted above, that sources fields/topics are in fact a good match for "computer science lists".

Merge the lists, eliminating a rarely used category, simplifying the category structure and with at least the chance of better mainentance of these category entries. Further, I believe that an attempt to split the existing "Computer lists" entries between the two categories would be a disservice to both sets of users; initially with too many redundant entries and later with unique entries in both lists that should have redundant entries. tooold 03:17, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Amusing. Looking at history I see that I was the one who added "Computer lists" to this category -- because of all the computer science entries now in "Computer lists". The argument above still stands, "computer science lists" is dependent on "computer lists" for most of its detail.tooold 03:24, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
