[edit] "Joining" WP:Space missions
Saw your note about joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Space missions. All I did was edit the page to add myself to the list. Doesn't seem to be much structure right now. (Maybe our discussion there will spark some life back into the project?)
I also created a userbox [1] for the project, but it's completely unofficial and probably not done correctly. Chip in and improve it if you'd like.
--3Idiot 19:20, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
I like the update you made to the WP:Space missions userbox. The other pic that came to mind is the engraved plate on Pioneer 10. Isn't that supposed to universally mean something about humans exploring space? Maybe if I ever get motivated enough, there could be a "This user is a member of WP:Space missions and is particularly fond of {insert mission here}" type userbox where one could select the favorite mission and have a corresponding image...
But for now, I agree, Vostok 1 is a good choice.

[edit] STS-115
Thanks for yout note about teamwork on STS-115. I agree. I always know the article has improved when I see the last edit was yours. I hope we can keep some motivation up (and build more) to re-energize the WikiProject Space missions community.
Just a few more days of this mission, then we have some downtime to do administrative stuff and cleanup. Then it's Soyuz TMA-9 time, eh?
--3Idiot 13:28, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Pay no attention to the fact that I can't do math. TMA-9 lifts in about 15 hours...STS-115 lands in a couple of days... So much for downtime...
--3Idiot 13:29, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
More good stuff at STS-115. Thanks! I dropped you an email (via "E-mail this user") with my IM info.

[edit] Direct Launch Vehicle
Just to let you know, I've taken Direct Launch Vehicle off of the Space Shuttle template. I left my reasons on the discussion page, but I'm happy to discuss it either there or here. I think that having the proposal on the template gives it more weight, and a more official appearance, than it deserves at the moment. Maybe someday it'll be different, but that isn't for us to decide. MLilburne 21:38, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Shuttle-Mir Program
I don't know if you had noticed, but Shuttle-Mir Program has passed as a good article. Themcman1 10:41, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
I've copyedited the Shuttle-Mir Program article and made a number of minor changes. There were a few sections that I wasn't sure how to improve. The transition:
resulting in a slow, uncontrolled "tumble" through space.[12][4][29][5] Linenger was eventually succeeded by Anglo-American astronaut
and the awkward wording of:
The expedition's crew returned to Earth aboard Space Shuttle Atlantis following the first Shuttle-Mir docking during mission STS-71.[16][4][17]
I hope you find my efforts helpful and you get Featured Article status. Aalox 22:32, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inactive Portals and Wiki Projects
From what I've seen, there isn't much going on in wikiprojects related to space, I'm not sure if I'm just not looking in the right places or what. I know there are a lot of active uses given how fast current missions are updated. Aalox 00:48, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Biography
Hi again! Thanks for your quick input at Template talk:WPBiography#Astronaut bios. Just as a heads-up: at last count (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Members), WikiProject Biography had 327 regular members and 28 admin members. (Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.. ;-) (sdsds - talk) 20:14, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] STS-131, STS-132, STS-133
Hi - is NASA's online version of the Shuttle manifest out of date? It conflicts with STS-131, STS-132, & STS-133 pages on WP. See: [2] ... Gekritzl 00:39, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
Just letting you know that this edit amazed me. I just resized the pic to a pretty smaller version. Could you also explain this edit (the picture's description currently clearly shows that this is a NASA patch). Thanks. Brand спойт 20:32, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I'm Back
Hey Colds7ream. I'm back from the summer trip and will get back to finishing that Mir article. Will be a bit slow as school's starting up, but I'll do what I can. What's new? Aalox 21:05, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] STS-122 images
If you can, would you please upload STS-122 imagery directly to Category:STS-122. Since many of the non-english STS articles are based on the english one, giving a prime example here should really eleviate all the doubles and "local" uploads in the other language articles. That would also save me the trouble of having to move them there at a later time. Good to see you again on this launch, lets hope all goes well again. :D --TheDJ (talk • contribs) 16:22, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Space missions and Human Spaceflight WikiProjects
Hi, I noticed that you are a member of the Space missions and Human Spaceflight WikiProjects. A couple of weeks ago, I proposed that the Space missions and Space travellers projects, which both appear to be inactive, be merged into the Human Spaceflight project. Whilst this is being done, the capitalisation of the Human spaceflight project's title would also be corrected (ie. Human Spaceflight → Human spaceflight). The projects are all doing the same/very similar things, and in my opinion, a single, larger, project would be more effective than three smaller, and somewhat inactive projects.. In light of very little response to messages on the project talk pages, I am now sending this message to all members of all three projects, inviting them to discuss the proposal on the Human Spaceflight project's talk page. I would appreciate your opinion on this. Thanks. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 21:39, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Salyut 7 & Cosmos 1686.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Salyut 7 & Cosmos 1686.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

[edit] Americanisation - WP:ENGVAR
In a recent edit to the page Soyuz programme, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to other English-speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the appropriate variety of English used there. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, you can ask me on my talk page or you can visit the help desk. Thank you. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 08:34, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
