This statement is false.
The title Colombia Three was first used by Sinn Féin member of the North Ireland assembly Caitríona Ruane in her Colombia: Judge for Yourself (Dublin: Bring Them Home Campaign, 2003) etc etc
That report was published after the trial, in 2003 as stated. The name Colombia Three was being used by neutral sources in May 2002, before the trial began. One Night In Hackney303 22:36, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Unquestionably its been being used for a long time, if memory serves me correctly it was being used in 2001. Thanks, SqueakBox 22:42, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks. That was the earliest example I could find easily, and it's more than enough to disprove the statement being added. Regardless of any implied association with the likes of the Birmingham Six or the Guildford Four (and I've never seen such an association made in a reliable source), the current title is the name given to the men, rightly or wrongly, so that's what we use.
