"It should be noted that he is not a teacher in the conventional sense, but rather a "guest lecturer."' Why? This part is largely irrelevant because it only serves as mal-intentioned speculation that a school board would not find McCarthy fit for teaching. The school offers the class because it is a subject the school wants to offer, and they only have to pay a minimal extra salary to the host teacher. 208.59.171.97 21:12, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Colman McCarthy was the best teacher I ever had. It should be noted that any school is lucky to have him.(He taught me for a semester at The Washington Center.)

"Why are we violent but not illiterate? Because we are taught to read."

I'm pretty sure the quote that I pasted above was from a student he had. Not a big deal; just think we ought to give credit where credit is due, and all that. I do love Mr. McCarthy's writings though, truly inspiring works.
