Some information within this article is incorrect, specifically the locations mentioned. The events referred to took place in Narborough, Leicestershire, in 1983 and 1986. Alec Jeffreys developed genetic fingerpinting at the University of Leicester.
Many details, including names and the basic summary of events, are correct.

Initial summary incorrect
In fact it apppears that it is the initial summary of this article that is incorrect since the dates and events clearly do not match those described in the main article and in the authoritative reference provided. In fact the summary seems to be describing a completely different set of events and people. Checking/correction is needed. --SteveBrunt 22:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
