[edit] Harvey Butchart

I've reverted the paragraph on Harvey Butchart as I don't think it's relevant. However, a cursory googling seems to indicate that this guy qualifies for a separate article. I've preserved the reverted text below.

Flagstaff, Arizona resident and college math professor Harvey Butchart was the first man to walk the 250-odd miles that was contained by the boundaries of Grand Canyon National Park, finishing just ahead of Fletcher in 1963. Butchart completed the first traverse one section at a time over 17 years, as establishing the entire route took much work and dedicated searching. It was Butchart who gave Fletcher the route information he needed to do the whole thing in one trip.

[edit] The Quote

I don't fully grasp the quote. What is Fletcher trying to say here? --Bentonia School 15:00, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

My dad, who used to be quite the hiker in the 50's and 60's talked with Colin Fletcher on at leaast one occasion out in California. Dad told me that "Fletcher paved the way for hikers to enjoy the great outdoors" -- he was joking, of course as he would frequently lament on the state of the National Parks systems after books like Fletcher's "over-popularized" the sport of hiking.

[edit] Start classification

I have classified this article as a start due to its length. However, it needs to be sourced however. Capitalistroadster 09:12, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
