[edit] Liberia and Ethiopia
It may be nice to include in the legend a box for grey areas, as many readers will be unfamiliar with their independent status. Smmurphy(Talk) 17:50, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Help!
I uploaded my edition, but it doesn't work at all! I only see the old version! What happened?

Africa is not real! It was all made up by craxy scientists! 68.37.220.119 20:28, 9 March 2006
[edit] Togo and Ghana
UK got Ghana After WWI, so on West Africa there is no UK. And Togo and Ghana belong to German. Matt86hk talk 14:55, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Ghana was UK before WWI, see History_of_Ghana#British_control except for a small part in the east which was part of Togoland. So the map is correct except that Togo should be slightly larger. --Astrokey44 21:29, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
My apologies if mistakes were made during my revision. One should not hesitate to fix them. Albrecht 22:20, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- I dont think any were made in yours (wow this map has had alot of versions!) - the thing I mean is see the difference between the size of Togo in this version compared to this version --Astrokey44 01:07, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Colours
British possessions were typically coloured pink, and for the most part maps on Wikipedia have continued this tradition. Albrecht 20:34, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New map
I've created a new map of colonial Africa as it was in 1914. I've added in several corrections including increasing the size of Togo, correcting eastern British East Africa and post-1912 Libya. This is my first attempt at a map so constructive criticism is welcomed. (In fact it's my first foray into the Wikipedia in general) --Declan Graham 18:06, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Benin
Why is Benin in Grey? --RastaRule 11:06, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- it isnt - its blue. perhaps you mean Liberia, which was independent --Astrokey44 11:56, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Aren't the borders of Tripoli wrong?
The borders of Italy's colony of Tripoli (the region coloured green at the centre of the top of the map) shows today's borders of Libya. However, weren't the borders quite different in 1914 - if you google image search "map africa 1914" the borders on the maps are quite different (eg. there is a significant portion of south-east Libya controlled by the British). Shouldn't this be fixed? Swedish fusilier 09:22, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
