Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Colonel Bernard F. Fisher, University of Utah Class of 1951, received the Detachment 850 Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Distinguished Alumnus Award on 3 May 2008. Colonel Fisher received the award for achieving extraordinary distinction as recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, our Nation's highest military award for bravery and for having brought the highest credit upon himself, Detachment 850, and the United States Air Force. Presenting the award is Lt Col E. Kent Wong, Commander of AFROTC Detachment 850, University of Utah.
