Columbia City Station (Link station)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Columbia City Station will be a Sound Transit Central Link light rail station in the Rainier Valley area of Seattle. It is an at-grade, or surface, station, and will open in 2009.

[edit] Location

The station is on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South between South Alaska and South Edmunds streets. It is in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle. The station is about 3 blocks away from the Columbia City business district, so the Columbia City Station project includes improvements on South Edmunds St from Martin Luther King Jr. Way to Rainier Ave. South to enhance connections.

[edit] Other Features

There will be a plaza at northeast corner of South Edmunds St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Way South with amenities such as landscaping, public art, seating, bicycle parking and lighting. Sound Transit projects 2,900 daily boardings in 2020.
