[edit] Description

The shells are whelk-like of variable shape and sculpture, most abundant in tropical shallow waters. The usual shape is fusiform-elongate, with the narrow aperture more or less dentate. The radula is distinctive, with a lunate central tooth, without either cusps or denticles, but the lateral is massive and strongly tricuspidate.
