Colton Willems

Colton Kristofer Willems (born July 30, 1988, in Fort Pierce, Florida) is a North American professional baseball player. He is a right-handed pitching prospect in the Washington Nationals organization. A 2006 graduate of John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, Florida, Willems was selected by the Nationals with the 22nd overall pick in the 2006 amateur draft and signed for a bonus of $1.425 million.
Willems spent the 2006 season with the GCL Nationals, Washington's affiliate in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League. He accrued a record of 0 wins and 1 loss and an ERA of 3.38 in 5 starts with the GCL Nationals.
In 2007 Willems pitched for the Vermont Lake Monsters in the short-season New York-Penn League. He logged 58⅔ innings in twelve starts, winning 3, losing 2, and recording a 1.84 ERA.
