Colorado relay

The 10th Annual Colorado Relay, a 24-hour+ 170-mile team relay race, is Colorado's Premier Team Relay designed for athletes of all abilities. The 2007 Colorado Relay will run on September 21-22, 2007. Participants are casual runners, serious runners and sometimes even professionals, but most often are somewhere in between. The majority of teams have 10 runners and 2 volunteers (plus other support staff) who make their way from Idaho Springs, Colorado to Glenwood Springs, Colorado with each team member running three "legs" of the relay (each averages ~6 miles). Other teams have between 6-12 members (Non-Conformist category) or 5 members (Ultra category).
The Colorado Relay is the perfect place to bring together a team, work group, running club, college buddies, high school club, Outward Bound reunion or church group for a weekend of team camaraderie, fun, exercise and support of Outward Bound Wilderness. Each team brings together not only runners, but drivers for their vehicles, volunteers for exchange points and other support personnel, making this truly a team effort – just what Outward Bound Wilderness is all about.
An option for elite runners is to create an Ultra team of five runners. Teams in the Ultra "Classic" category, have runners responsible for one leg of the race that averages about 35 miles in length. Alternatively, a new category has been created for Ultra Teams -- "Freestyle" -- which allows them to rotate through the legs as other teams, however, only with 5 runners (each runner runs 6 legs).
Regardless of the division, the Colorado Relay attracts people from all over the nation and is designed for both casual and competitive runners.
