Color of the Cross is a 2006 biopic film written by, directed by, and starring Jean-Claude La Marre.

The Film is unique in that it is one of the few depictions of Christ as a black man, and that it portrays Jesus' persecution as the result of racism.^[1]

A sequel is currently in production.

Color of the Cross is a biopic film about the life of Jesus Christ. It addresses four specific areas of his life. It looks at Jesus and his disciples, the Romans occupying Judea, the rabbis in the Sanhedrin, and the family life of Joseph, Mary and their remaining children.

The sequel to the film, Color of the Cross 2:Resurrection, was released on dvd on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.

The novel version of the screenplay, also entitled Color of the Cross, was penned by writer/singer/actress Ayvee Verzonilla.
