Colm Keaveney is a Labour Party (Ireland) public representative from Tuam in East Galway.
Colm Keaveney was elected to Galway County Council on his first attempt in 2004, gaining just under 2000 votes in the Tuam electoral area.
He is a SIPTU trade union official and former President of the Union of Students in Ireland (USI). As President of USI in 1995 he played a key role in negotiating on behalf of students for the abolition of third level tuition fees.
His stated priorities are "to improve our health service, and to make our streets and communities safer".
