College Hockey East (CHE) is an ACHA Division III League comprised of smaller colleges and universities in Western Pennsylvania. ACHA DIII gives small schools the opportunity to compete in college hockey, other universities field DIII teams as JV teams for their ACHA DI or DII teams.

The league began in 1971 under the name Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Hockey Association (WPIHA). The WPIHA lasted from 1971 until the end of the 2002 season when the league was renamed to College Hockey East, reflecting the growth of the league outside of Pennsylvania.

8 Teams compete in two divisions, North and South. 3 other schools are known as provisional members.
