Coliseum Station is a surface station on the LRT system (Route 201) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is operated by Edmonton Transit System, and was one of the original five stations when the line opened on April 22, 1978.[1] It is located between Belvedere Station and Stadium Station at approximately 78 Street and 118 Avenue, and is built on an overpass that travels over 118 Avenue (Alberta Avenue).
Coliseum Station serves Edmonton's Rexall Place (home of the Edmonton Oilers NHL hockey team) and Edmonton Northlands.
Although Coliseum was never a terminus of the LRT line, all trains started and ended their runs at Coliseum when the fleet of LRT rail cars was maintained at the Cromdale garage nearby. The fleet is now housed at the D.L. MacDonald Transit Yard, which was completed in December 1983.[2]
