Coline-Marie Orliac (b. 1989, France), was the Bronze Medalist of the 2007 USA International Harp Competition, in which she was awarded the Mario Falcao Prize for the best performance of Hsu’s Huan. A native of France, Coline-Marie began studying piano at the age 5 and harp at the age 7. She has performed with the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of Nice and the Chamber Orchestra of Nice. She was invited by Claudio Abbado to join the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, touring Europe with the organization in the spring and summer of 2006. Orliac won the first prize in the 2005 UFAM International Harp Competition and the second prize at the Vera Dulova Harp Competition in Moscow – the first French harpist to receive the award. Her other prizes include second prize at the International Felix Godefroid Harp Contest, second prize at the International Henriette Renié Harp Contest, and the “Espoir” prize at the 2001 International Marcel Tournier Harp Competition. She has studied with Isabelle Moretti, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Elisabeth Fontan-Binoche and Judith Liber. Coline-Marie currently studies with Judy Loman at the Curtis Institute of Music where she holds the L. Daniel Dannenbaum Fellowship. She will be performing at the 2008 World Harp Congress in Amsterdam.
