Colin Stanley Winchester (18 October 1933 - 10 January 1989) was an officer with the Australian Federal Police.
At the time of his death he was the Assistant Commissioner in charge of community policing in the Australian Capital Territory.
On 10 January 1989, he was shot and killed as he parked his car in the driveway of his house in Deakin (ACT).
David Eastman was charged with the murder and was found guilty.
Assistant Commissioner Winchester is Australia's most senior Police Officer to have been killed in the line of duty.[1]
