Colin Hughes

Colin Anfield Hughes (born 1930) is an Australian academic specializing in electoral politics and government.

He was appointed Professor of Political Science at the University of Queensland in 1975. He was later appointed to the Professorial Fellow in the Institute of Advanced Studies at the Australian National University. He was the first Australian Electoral Commissioner at the Australian Electoral Commission from 1984-1989 [1] (In 1984 the AEC replaced the Australian Electoral Office, which had existed since 1902.)
