Colin Charvis (born December 27, 1972 in Sutton Coldfield, England) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays club rugby for Newport Gwent Dragons and internationally for the Wales national rugby union team. He plays on the back row, either as a flanker or as the no. 8.
Charvis began playing for London Welsh, and then moved to Swansea RFC in 1995. His first cap for Wales was in 1996 against Australia: he went on to become team captain for a period and toured Australia with the British and Irish Lions in 2001.
He remained with Swansea until changes in the Welsh club structure saw him without a contract in the period of the 2003 Rugby World Cup. He moved briefly to Tarbes in France and then to Newcastle Falcons in England whom he also captained.
Charvis's contract with the Falcons was not renewed at the end of the 2005-6 season. He was subsequently picked up by the Newport Gwent Dragons.
He was the victim of alleged racial abuse on February 16, 2007, while playing in Ulster.
Colin became the world record try scorer for a forward in test match rugby on 24th November 2007 v South Africa at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
