Coleman is a township in the Northeastern part of the Canadian province of Ontario. It is situated in the district of Timiskaming of Northern Ontario. The township has a population of 431 (2006 census), a land area of 177.60 square kilometres and a population density of 2.4 persons per square kilometre. The median age of the population is 47.6 years of age.[1]
The community was first formed around 1906. The community was named after Florence Coleman Flumerfelt. She was the daughter of coal company president, A.C. Flumerfelt. The township celebrated its first 100 years in 2006.
It is located off Highway 11 near the Highway 11b cut-off, and surrounds the town of Cobalt.
