Coleen Sexton (c. 1980, West New York, New Jersey) is an American stage actress who made her Broadway debut at age 20 in Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse's Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical in 2000. She portrayed the starring role of Lucy Harris in the Broadway production, as an understudy from 1999, and took over the role from Luba Mason in January 2000. She can be seen on the DVD of the show.

[edit] Theatre career

Her biggest role to date was Lucy, as stated in Jekyll & Hyde. Surprisingly, Coleen is the Lucy who had been seen with every Jekyll/Hyde, except for the original Robert Cuciolli. When she took over the role, she had performed with Jack Wagner (January to June '00), Sebastian Bach (From June to October '00), and the show's final star David Hasselhoff (From October to January '01). Furthermore, Joseph Mahowland was the alternate until October '00, when the original alternate Rob Evan came back to the show for it's final months. In December 2000, camera crews came in to film the show, live from the audience, which starred Andrea Rivette, Coleen, and David Hasselhoff, who himself funding the project. It appeared on HBO several times in early 2001, and was released on September 11, 2001. It has since been re-release, in November 2006, but has not seen on television since 2003. Coleen has also toured with the Broadway National touring company of Chicago (musical), from 2004 until 2005.

Most recently, Coleen was seen as the Standby for the role of Elphaba, in the national tour of Wicked. She was contracted from January 2007, until late November 2007. She performed the role frequently, most notably in Tampa, Houston (which is where Jekyll & Hyde actually began), and in Philadelphia, where it has been notably known that the full time Elphaba Victoria Matlock had left mid-show due to family/personal reasons, and Coleen randomly appeared in the next scene. Despite being a somewhat popular Elphaba with the Wicked fans, she left the show in November 2007.

Coleen has also been involved in several projects, which really have not gone anywhere yet. 2004's "Go-Go Beach," whose Demo is frequently seen on their website, and Dracula: A Chamber Musical, which she starred as Lucy alongside Bohmer, but the show never materialised enough after it's American premiere to go to Broadway. Instead it has been seen in regional productions and TV.

[edit] Other

Coleen has been in several episodes of Law & Order, as common to Broadway actresses. She was also seen as "Lisa from Accounting" in the independent film "Fabled." And most recently, she has been seen endorsing "The Stand," a device which easily allows a peron to lift their motorcycle.
