Coldplay's forthcoming world tour will begin on June 16th, 2008 at Brixton Academy in London and end at an unspecified date.[1] As of May 27, 32 concerts have been announced for North America, with 24 in the United States and 8 in Canada, 13 for Europe and 2 in Asia. The tour is in support of their new album Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, due out June 12, 2008. The tour's first three gigs (London, Barcelona and New York) will be special, as they are free. People have to sign up to the band's website and enter a contest from where the tickets will be delivered. Winners for the New York and London shows are announced on June 5 through coldplay.com.

It is believed that the band will continue touring well into 2009. Sources indicate that the tour might have some 150 shows, the same that the Twisted Logic Tour had in 2005-06. Also, the tour might land on more destinations than any other Coldplay world tour, with a possible return to Latin America, and other sites in Asia and Africa.

In the following days it has been reported that the band will announce new gigs, in Europe. With a full tour in France for September 2008. Coldplay's first ever concert in Hungary has been announced officially too.[2]
