Cold Mountain is the original soundtrack of the 2003 Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winning film Cold Mountain (starring Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Renée Zellweger)
The album won the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music and the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Soundtrack of the Year in 2003. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. The songs "The Scarlet Tide" and "You Will Be My Ain True Love" were nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.

Burnett worked for over a year on the soundtrack.[1] Both Elvis Costello and Sting were commissioned to write tunes for the album.
