"Cold" is the first single released by the post-grunge/hard rock band Crossfade. It was the lead single released from their debut full-length self-titled album Crossfade in 2004. The single was also released in 2004. It fared exceptionally well on rock charts worldwide and is their biggest hit to date, reaching #81 on the U.S. Hot 100, #3 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock Tracks, and #2 on the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks, as well as reaching #41 on the UK Singles Chart.

The music video was featured on a sampler disc that shipped with the first PlayStation Portable consoles[citation needed]. A censored version was featured on MX vs. ATV Unleashed.[citation needed]

A remix made for the song that was played on several radio stations[citation needed], and the band has also played an Acoustic version of the song.[citation needed]

The song is about a man who was unintentionally mean or cold-hearted to a loved one in the past, and now he is apologizing to the person. The person he is apologizing to has been polite and caring to him, so this must be the reason why he is saying sorry about the way he treated that someone. The video (directed by Martin Weisz) features the band playing in a dark room of a house. A woman (played by Beau Garrett) walks in. She stands and admires them playing for a while, then walks up to the lead singer, but he continues to play and ignores her. She then walks in to his room and falls on his bed and finds a guitar under his sheets; a possible reference that he placed music before the loved person in question. She proceeds to pack some things into a bag and walks back to where the band is playing, towards the lead singer. She stands there for a while, then she goes back into the bathroom, with the lead singer right behind her. She picks up a picture of her and the lead singer, and throws it into the toilet, symbolizing the end of the relationship. She takes a toothbrush and then walks through the lead singer, who becomes transparent, referencing how he was never really there for her. She goes out of the bathroom, to the door, and stops to look back at the band playing. The lead singer looks at her, then looks away. She leaves the house, presumably for good.
