Coinflation is a Web site which provides the scrap metal value of various coins, as well as news related to coin collecting and the scrap metal industry.

Due to the prices of nickel and copper exceeding their face value, the US mint banned the melting of pennies and nickels for profit.[1] Coinflation claimed that their logs showed visitors from the US Congress, the US Treasury, and the US Department of Justice.[2]
