Cogne is a town in Aosta Valley, northern Italy with 1469 inhabitants, as of 2005. It's located at 45°36' N and 7°22'E.
Cogne is one of the most beautiful summer mountain villages of the Alps. Ibex, wild goat, marmots, royal eagles are easy to see. Many walks and hikes of different level, to lakes, waterlfalls... In the winter Cogne offer 70 km. of cross country skiing, 9 km. down hill, many walks on the snow and more than 140 icefalls. It is possible have more information on www.cogne.org.

Cogne is also famous for the Cogne Homicide whose victim was the 3 year old baby Samuele Lorenzi, killed by his mother, Annamaria Franzoni.
