[edit] Transportation

[edit] Airplanes

Klawock, Alaska is the only Prince of Wales island community with an airport, although float planes are accommodated by many of the island's coastal communities.

[edit] Ferry

Coffman Cove and Hollis, Alaska are the two Prince of Wales island communities with scheduled ferry service. Coffman Cove serves as a transportation gateway for Prince of Wales Island in that it is the homeport for the Inter-Island Ferry Authority's M/V Stikine, which offers Summer Monday, Friday, & Saturday round-trip ferry service between the communities of Wrangell and Petersburg. [3] As such, access to these communities is available to the entire island through the island's road network.

[edit] Roads

Prince of Wales island's road system is composed primarily of forest logging roads, with the more heavily-traveled routes between island communities upgraded.

[edit] Shuttles/Taxi

There are a few shuttle bus or taxi cab companies (based in Craig & Klawock) providing regular service between the Coffman Cove & Hollis ferry terminals and the other island communities. [4]
