Talk:Coenzyme Q - cytochrome c reductase
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Antimycin DOESN'T stop electron transfer between Complex III and IV: it stops electron transfer between a haem subunit (bH) of Complex III, to a ubiquinone molecule at a binding site also within Complex III. There is another binding site where Myxothiazol binds, between another haem subunit (c1) of Complex III, and this is between the larger cytochrome c1 and cytochrome c subunits. The confusing nomenclature is probably to blame for this mistake. Reference: Lehninger, 4ed. Meconium 16:11, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] wrong enzyme name
The correct name of complex III is Coenzyme Q : cytochrome c oxidoreductase. --Hoffmeier 09:29, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
