[edit] Compsognathidae

I doln't have the paper in which Rauhut places Compsognathus, Mirischia, and Coelurus in the same family--however, there are a few issues. Very few paleontologists have adopted this usage of coeluridae, and I bet I know why. The name Compsognathidae predates the name Coeluridae! Any family that contains Compsognathus must be named Compsognathidae. Sereno discusses this on the TaxonSearch entry for Compsognathidae [1]. The whole coelurid thing is a mess, and I'm going to go ahead and re-structure, with a separate page for Compsognathidae, which is pretty well supported compard to Coeluridae. Any discussion of this stuff can go here, I guess.Dinoguy2 23:15, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Coeluridae

Update the writing for Coeluridae. The family Coeluridae includes only two genera, Coelurus and Tanycolagreus. The two genera have a number of characters that provide support for a monophyletic Coeluridae.
